During our 45 year marriage, we were great friends, good lovers and life partners. We raised a wonderful family which gave us rewards we never dreamed of. My morning coffee is not the same without you, I need your help to finish the daily crossword. Balmy evenings in Hawaii, sunsets at the beach, family functions will not be the same. You will be forever in our hearts.

Uncle Louie is what I called him even though he’s not really my uncle. He was just one of the guys, fun to be with and easy to talk to. One of the many things I loved about him was his genuine intrest in what we talked about. He was a good listener and really got to know me, more than many people I have known twice as long. One of my fondest memories was a couple years back, bodysurfing at Mauna Lani beach. Uncle Louie got tubed and washed up the beach, he was having a blast. Later that night when drinking a couple Hinanos on the lanai, he still had sand in his ears and hair. He made a joke about it and we laughed. I’ll miss his great laugh. He taught me a passion for life that I will never forget and only hope to emulate. He will always be my Uncle and I am grateful to have known him.

I remember as a child growing up thinking my uncle Lou was the biggest man ever!! I have probably asked him a million times how tall he was. I know he was probably tired of answering the same repetitive question but he always gave me some form of an answer. Thats just the type of guy he was. I remember Uncle Lou as one of the most gentle loving men I have ever met. Thanks Lou for being such a great example of what a Man, a Father and an Uncle should be.

Lou Nuzzi,
A great great man among many
With a kind heart and gentle soul.
The smile of an angel mixed with mischief,
And… the twinkle in his eyes
That of a leprechan
Revealing the treasure of him!
My friend, you left your mark on the hearts of so many and gave life to a beautiful family. I thank you for sharing that with me.

Mrs Nuzzi, Jeff & Janet,
I was saddend to read the news of Mr Nuzzi’s passing. Since my time goes back to highschool with Jeff , I never got to the first name stage! What I do remember is the kind, unassuming “aloha spirit” demeanor he had that made everyone feel comfortable and welcomed while in your home.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all.
Fondly,
Missy

To the Nuzzi Family and Friends,
Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you now and always. While we did not know Lou well, we know from the type of father his son has turned out to be that Lou was a great role model, father and friend to Jeff. We well remember Lou’s look of pride and joy on Jeff and Sue’s wedding day as he stood with Jeff.
I was also blessed to briefly join the Nuzzi clan at one of Lou’s birthdays at a restaurant in Fashion Island. There was much joy and love among all and one could clearly sense the strong family bond. We will miss Lou and we miss all of y’all.

As Glenda has said before, there is nothing like family, and now I share with family the absence of such a valued member. I do so, however, with the hope that families can be eternal, and that the sorrow of separation is but a brief speck on the eternal scale. I express my heartfelt appreciation for the joyful experiences shared with Lou and those close to him, and my deepest, most compassionate feelings for those who were always so close to Lou and are missing him so much right now. Glenda, I feel the joy of your happy memories as well as the grief at your loss. I love you as I love Lou. I cannot think of the one without thinking of the other.

Lou Nuzzi has to be among the very most gracious and warm of hosts in his home that I have ever known. I, personally, will miss him but I know that though he may be gone from our lives he will never be gone from our hearts and my deepest of condolences go to all of his lovely family. May God grant you peace.

Dear Glenda, Jeff, and Janet,
How saddened I am to hear of “Glue” leaving us suddenly. I was just talking about you both the other day about our meetings at the race track in the summer when I could get to California I have such fond memories of the best neighbors I have ever had…partying on New Year’s, coming over on Christmas Day morning to show you what Santa brought, talking over the fence, sitting on the patio with “our” fountain, and just both of you being there for us. Lou’s love of life and particularly his family always came through the smile he always wore. My love and prayers for comfort at this time of sadness are with all of you.
Love, Helene

My family and I want you to know that we are thinking about you, G, Jeff and Sue, Janet and Dan, and your children, in your bereavement. We all have fond memories of Lou. Grandma always appreciated Lou’s helping hand on our get-togethers. She enjoyed talking to him as he was always a good listener. Julie and Lauren appreciated Lou’s wisdom and they truly loved being with him. I am grateful to have known Lou for so many years, most of all for his good sense of humor, sharing our interest in music and his putting up with G and I singing oldies, but goodies. Lou is leaving a void in many lives, but we are grateful to have all the wonderful memories of him. With sympathy, love, and affection.

Where do I begin? Lou and Glenda have always made me feel like I was part of the family, just like parents to me. I will always cherish all those many, many Christmas Eves at the Nuzzi house singing Christmas carols and opening presents. There has always been a place at their family dinner table for me. I have so many wonderful memories of birthdays, days at the beach and just hanging out with the Nuzzi’s. Most people have a spare set of car keys tucked away just in case; I’ve always felt the Nuzzi’s are my spare set of parents just in case I need them, and losing Lou is like losing a father again. I’m sure my mom and dad greeted Lou at the pearly gates to thank him for being so wonderful to me! A kind and caring man with a heart of gold and a smile that would light up a room, Lou will be missed every day. My thoughts and prayers are with Glenda, Jeff and Janet at their time of loss.
All my love,
Marilyn

Dear Glenda, Jeff(Sue), Janet(Dan) and kids,
I don’t know what I can say to ease the pain you’re going through right now. I love you and you’re in my prayers. I hope you can find some peace with the many fond memories that you have of such a wonderful husband and father. I know the love he has had for you ever since you were little kids and he talked about how much you meant to him the night we went out to dinner before he took me to the airport. Lou was a good person and I love him for having been in my life as a brother-in-law and a very special friend.
Lou, I’m grateful for the help you’ve been to me such as the time you dropped everything and came south on the freeway and fixed my flat tire and another time at a family Christmas party when I clogged up the disposal with potato peelings and you (in your Sunday best) got down on your knees under the kitchen sink and fixed the disposal as family was starting to arrive and the times you helped us move. There were many helpful and kind things you’ve done for our family. I heard a story the other day that showed your love and compassion. Apparently Jeff, Janet, Teri Presley wanted to make some invisible ink and there was a lit waxey candle involved and paper. The paper caught fire and through panic, the kids grabbed something to swat the fire out. Well when you saw it all, you said with a calm voice “That was my new jacket”. There are some that would have gone beserk but not you.
Lou, I know you can hear me up there and I want you to know that Bob & I love you and are going to miss you very much.
Love, Ardie

Jeff and Nuzzi Family,
Sorry about your fathers passing. You always had and will continue to tell great stories about your family and youth that your father would definitely be proud of.
Les and I send our condolences and wish we could be there for the service. We’ll listen to Chamillionaire’s “Ridin” Friday in your father’s honor.

Lou,
I know you can hear me. Those that know me know that I am rarely a t a loss for words, but now…
A beer and a cigar, talking about everything and nothing, yes those were the days. I took for granted that there would be many more.
Taken from us far too soon; I miss you already and I’ll remember you always.

I’ll never forget when one of us got “tongue tied” and called you “Lenda and Glou” It stuck. The Glou has now moved on but the family won’t fall apart without “Glou” The wonderful memories of “Glou” will keep everyone together for always.
What a shock. What a sad time. But, what pleasant wonderful memories we all carry with us. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dearest Mrs. Nuzzi, Jeff, Janet and family,
Our deepest sympathies for the unforeseen passing of your Dad.
He too, touched my life — and I’ve very much enjoyed reading and reflecting on everyone’s personal and unique memories of him. His relentlessly easy-going spirit and warm disposition will stay with me forever.
As a kid, I was amazed at his ability to listen, “actively” listen, to a point where I often found myself out of talking points as your dad continued to — “listen.” As I got older, I always had this concerned feeling that some how….. he “knew.” It took me many many years to realize that it was actually “strategic” parenting! Your dad was first and foremost — a Dad; and was always there for any and all of us. He was one of our community leaders in Little League, kept us in check throughout high school, and was excited and proud of us as we grew up. Your dad’s consummate “aloha spirit” also inspired and motivated me. Ironically, after the first Nuzzi family vacation to Hawaii, and the subsequent stories I heard from Jeff upon their return (complete with souvenirs), I find myself well entrenched in the aloha spirit today — residing here for the past nearly 13 years now. What more but a further testament to your dad’s influence and life-force!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Your dad will be in our hearts forever as well.
Warmest Aloha,
